- The casinos in Atlantic City are also starting to run those gas card promotions to bring in people to play the slots... In the old days, you'd win a car as the big jackpot winner. Now, you win the gas (posted to This Gas Situation is Getting Weird...)
- The mess in Ossetia and Abkhazia reminds me of 1914 Sarajevo and the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand -- an event that most history scholars now pinpoint as the source of the first World War. That event was just the powderkeg, (posted to Putin's Georgian Breach)
- Thank you, Kenneth! Across the nation, Barack Obama is truly setting a precedent for change. Looking forward to the next four years. (posted to It's a New Day)
- Robert, Thanks for pointing out the artwork of Alexandre Sazonov. A few years ago, I actually bought some of his artwork at the holiday fair at Union Square. Didn't see him the next year at the fair and assumed that (posted to The Butterfly Effect)
- David, Thanks for the inspiring post! There's a related article in today's Wall Street Journal ("Artists vs. Blight") that looks at how artists are helping to re-claim urban areas in places like Cleveland, Detroit and Buffalo: http://bit.ly/153PUw - Dominic (posted to A Testament to Love and Art)

- Thanks for tracking me down here in 2010 Olympic host city Vancouver and showing interest in my documentary photojournalism as I chronicle the impacts of the coming Games on the city's poor and marginalized residents. Vancouver is full of affluent (posted to Welcome to the AWEARNESS Blog. -Kenneth Cole)
- This Awearness blog and the book are a wonderful idea. I enjoyed the book event in Boston last month. It's neat that I now have Kenneth Cole's signature in my book, and it looks just like the Kenneth Cole New (posted to Welcome to the AWEARNESS Blog. -Kenneth Cole)

- The western Age of Enlightenment in the 18th century saw artistic depictions of physical and rational certainties of the clockwork universe, as well as politically revolutionary vision of a post-monarchist world, such as Blake's portrayal of Newton as a divine (posted to A Testament to Love and Art)
The AWEARNESS Blog provides daily updates under four socially-aware pillars of discussion: Social Rights, Well-Being, Political Landscape and Hard Times. This blog hopes to raise awareness around the issues that fall under these four areas in a dynamic and engaging format. In addition to regularly updated news and commentary under these topics, the blog also includes Q&As, original content from Kenneth Cole himself and contributions from staff members of Kenneth Cole Productions. There's a lot to delve into so we suggest you stop reading this boring intro stuff and get involved.
Hard Times
Poverty. Unemployment. Homelessness. Social insecurity. For issues like these we really need to spare some change. Give us your two cents to help put a hot meal of content on this table for others to consume, and give those less fortunate than ourselves some credit.Political Landscape
This terrain can be highly treacherous. Watch your step as you navigate the sifting sands of political agendas and government policies. Hopefully we can wipe away the slinging mud and scroll around for the truth that rarely dares to surface.Social Rights
Equality. Remember that? It's a mythical utopia most of us are still searching for. Let's stand up for the minorities and the moral injustices that many have to face every day. Let's discriminate against discrimination. Does that sound fair to you?Well-Being
Without our health, we have nothing. There are many things out there trying to harm us: AIDS; Pollution; Global Warming; Bird Flu; Medical bills. Some are natural, some are man-made, and unfortunately for us the list is endless. More posts here might be just the medicine we need.
It's good to feel needed.
