Jenny Riesz

• Biography: Jenny is a physicist by training, and through completing her PhD became deeply concerned about climate change. Moving into work in the renewable energy sector for ROAM Consulting she found a way to constructively develop solutions to climate change. In 2008 Jenny was a member of the Australian Youth Delegation to the United Nations negotiations on climate change. While there she noticed that the small island states who are most vulnerable to climate change are also underrepresented due to lack of population. In response to this she founded Project Survival Pacific – a youth initiative to support the Pacific Island nations who are most vulnerable to climate change. Jenny has spent the last 6 the months of 2009 working in the Solomon Islands as a part of this project, assisting them in preparations for the conclusion of the negotiations in Copenhagen.
