- Though not a user myself I have often questioned the war against marijuana. It is clearly a never ending losing battle for the taxpayer - much longer than Viet Nam and Iraq combined - and has also cost the lives (posted to Censoring Ads to Legalize Pot)
- Absolutely agreed. But reflect on this moment. Ann Coulter wasn't spewing hate this time. Shockingly, this was the venom of love. The acid reign was relieved for one brief, almost shiny moment by a tiny glint from her cyborg eye. (posted to Sarah Palin "Too Big For Alaska"?)
- I agree 100% Damon. I am a big proponent of organic sustainable permaculture and for years have been disappointed in the labeling guidelines allowed by the USDA and FDA. Such marketing terms as "natural" can have many potential meanings, and (posted to "100% Natural" Can Be 0% Green)
- Thanks Veronica and David. You both had very valid points. I enjoy Rachel and tend to cringe at Pat, but recognize that they each have a job: to create public debate. They each do this effectively, and recognize that skill (posted to Why Do We Tolerate Racists?)
- Thanks! I'll be looking out for this! (posted to Get with the Program: Emerging Markets)

- I believe that college campuses should remain independent from society-at-large. They should be connected to their communities, yes, but they should also be free to operate free from certain societal laws, pressures and norms. It's the academy: a place where (posted to A Victory for Gun Control, Perhaps)
- As someone who is officially obese, i hope this leads to a national tax. It would help the economy and get us back on a healthy tact. (posted to Is the Obesity Tax Ethical?)
- Thanks for the comments. Decomprose...I like that line: The difference between them and us is that they spend their time debating the immediate past, and we spend our time creating a better future. (posted to Why Do We Tolerate Racists?)
- Well put. Thanks for the laugh. (posted to Sarah Palin "Too Big For Alaska"?)
- This is a wonderful informative website and I applaud your efforts and all the important hard work you're doing. It gives me hope! I created a blog about the same critical issue and I'm doing what I can to raise (posted to Cigarette Butts Are Toxic Waste)

The AWEARNESS Blog provides daily updates under four socially-aware pillars of discussion: Social Rights, Well-Being, Political Landscape and Hard Times. This blog hopes to raise awareness around the issues that fall under these four areas in a dynamic and engaging format. In addition to regularly updated news and commentary under these topics, the blog also includes Q&As, original content from Kenneth Cole himself and contributions from staff members of Kenneth Cole Productions. There's a lot to delve into so we suggest you stop reading this boring intro stuff and get involved.
Hard Times
Poverty. Unemployment. Homelessness. Social insecurity. For issues like these we really need to spare some change. Give us your two cents to help put a hot meal of content on this table for others to consume, and give those less fortunate than ourselves some credit.Political Landscape
This terrain can be highly treacherous. Watch your step as you navigate the sifting sands of political agendas and government policies. Hopefully we can wipe away the slinging mud and scroll around for the truth that rarely dares to surface.Social Rights
Equality. Remember that? It's a mythical utopia most of us are still searching for. Let's stand up for the minorities and the moral injustices that many have to face every day. Let's discriminate against discrimination. Does that sound fair to you?Well-Being
Without our health, we have nothing. There are many things out there trying to harm us: AIDS; Pollution; Global Warming; Bird Flu; Medical bills. Some are natural, some are man-made, and unfortunately for us the list is endless. More posts here might be just the medicine we need.
It's good to feel needed.
