With so much negative news in this economy I like to come here, hang, and see some positivity making headway against the maudelin. It makes me feel that the light is winning over the darkness, that change can happen. Thank you for that, Mr. Cole.

Sounds great. Unfortuately the City Year New York program has such strict rules on tardies that it discourages young people from contributing a year of their life. When you lose your scholarship and the right to graduate after serving over 2/3 of your time, you lose faith in the system.
Volunteer on your own, not through a rigid program that will not support you.
