Of the many perks I enjoy working at Kenneth Cole Productions, a trip to Denver for the 2008 Democratic National Convention was not one of them. However, my bosses decided that August 28th would be a great time to visit the nearby Colorado Mills Company store to perform their yearly audit. Flying in Wednesday night, and out Thursday night, I was able to spend a couple of hours walking around and taking in the sights. The following is the convention through the eyes of an innocent bystander:
These signs lined the streets, just in case you were unsure of what was going on:
The finest of Denver Nightlife (located one block from the Convention Center). I didn't go inside, but it's hard to argue with a statement like that:
Me with the man himself (kind of):
Powerful, yet peaceful protest. Nobody was harmed in the filming of this protest:
In the case of a possible riotous protest, there was more than enough of a police presence (also many horseless squads not pictured):
However, they were not aware enough to stop this man from decapitating Obama and putting his head on a stick:
Rock the vote! Play Guitar Hero... register to vote. Even though I was previously registered, I was still allowed to "shred:"
Obama's speech, on the big screen...
... Followed by the Clipse (I'm just grindin' man, y'all never mind me).
So that was my DNC '08 experience. A little different than our other bloggers who had access to some really cool events, but still a fun experience. I actually even ran into David Alm (not pictured) in a Google sponsored lounge.
Next stop Minnesota! (Actually not, but you can imagine what it would be like if I did).
