This is a photo I took of my best friend. I was simply amazed about the dedication of the nanay, the Filipino term for mother, to take care of her baby who was 21 years old. She stayed in the hospital with my best friend for the whole duration of her recovery. She sacrificed her job and it actually didn't end there. The mother literally took care of everything- even washing the clothes that her daughter would have to wear on a daily basis. This photo was taken when I told the nanay to catch up on her sleep while I looked after my best friend. Ours is really a rich, loving culture.
