Pimp Your Hybrid CarWith Hybrid cars being ever more present on the highways, it shouldn't come as a surprise that more and more people are customizing their eco-friendly rides. I found this out on one of my favorite resources about cars and the environment. Hybrid Owners of America is a project of 40 MPG and the Civil Society Institute. Besides keeping up a web site with updated content about Hybrids, the site serves as a clearinghouse of information on the car industry's hottest new sector, including a Clean Energy Call to Action button. Here's where I also caught up with MTV's "Stop the Addiction" campaign "Pimp My Green Ride." In this MTV video we watch the Grease Brothers explore veggie fuel conversion.

did you see the size of that barrel??? do you know what happens to the grease that restaurants dispose of on a daily basis?
Hopefully in the future the Grease Brothers will know where to draw the line and refuse to play some clean air guitar?
But seriously, it's great what these two are doing. Apparently, one gallon of cooking fat (mixed with various chemicals) creates one gallon of bio-diesel. Which is much better than pouring it down the sink and costing millions of dollars every year to unblock solidified fat from our sewage system.
In the UK alone, it cost over $30 million to clear pipes due to fat build-up. It almost gives a new meaning to a drive-thru restaurant.
