1. amfAR - amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is one of  the world's leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to the support of AIDS  research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of sound  AIDS-related public policy.

2. HELP  USA - HELP USA is a national  not-for-profit organization with a mission to empower the homeless and others in need to become and remain self-reliant. Through the development of quality housing with on-site support services, HELP USA provides resources for its residents to  become independent and productive. We break the cycle of dependency by addressing underlying causes in a way that respects the dignity of those we serve. We help our clients help themselves.

Living in a pleasant, safe environment elevates clients' expectations for themselves, and motivates them to realize their full potential. HELP USA residences do not sacrifice aesthetics for  security.

The comprehensive continuum of services offered at HELP  USA residences includes employment training and  placement, life skills  education, childcare, and domestic violence counseling. As clients build confidence and skills, they take control of their lives and find  a new beginning.

3. Red Cross - Since its founding in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton, the American Red Cross has been the nation's premier emergency response organization. As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services, always with the aim of preventing and relieving suffering.

4. AIDS Action Committee (Boston)  - Founded in 1983, AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts is a not-for-profit, community-based health organization whose mission is to stop the HIV/AIDS epidemic by preventing new infections and optimizing the health of those already infected. Through a cooperative and mutually supportive effort between over 70 staff and hundreds of volunteers, AIDS Action seeks to assist and constructively work with people of all cultures by providing services, education, advocacy and prevention. AIDS Action provides free, confidential services to 2,500 men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS.

5. AID for AIDS Nevada (AFAN) - AFAN provides support and advocacy for adults and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in southern Nevada. AFAN works to reduce HIV infection through prevention education to eliminate fear, prejudice and the stigma associated with the disease.

6. AIDS Walk San Francisco - AIDS Walk San Francisco benefits the San Francisco AIDS Foundation
Proceeds from the event also fund HIV/AIDS Community Grants, administered by the Horizons Foundation In 2007, grants will be distributed to the following 42 HIV/AIDS organizations serving the six Bay Area counties.

7. Volunteers of America Greater New York - Founded in New York City in 1896, Volunteers of America is one of the nation's oldest and largest faith-based human service organizations, with a presence in more than 200 cities nationwide, serving more than 1,800,000 people each year. Volunteers of America-Greater New York is the largest affiliate of the national organization, with over 70 programs in the Greater New York area including the Mid-Hudson Valley region, Northern New Jersey and Southwestern Connecticut. Volunteers of America is the one of the largest private providers of services to the homeless in the area.

8. Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation - Starlight Starbright brings together experts from pediatric health care, technology and entertainment to create programs that educate, entertain and inspire seriously ill children. Whether it's finding friends online, learning more about a disease or just spending time together as a family, Starlight Starbright's programs help children and families cope with the challenges they face daily. Research studies on select Starlight Starbright programs have shown the following benefits: reduced pain and distress, reduction in the fear and isolation of a prolonged illness, a greater willingness to return for treatment, an increased sense of peer support, increased knowledge and sense of responsibility for managing disease, much needed distraction from the challenges that accompany their illness and increased ability to cope with their disease.

9. Best Buddies - Best Buddies ® is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment. Founded in 1989 by Anthony Kennedy Shriver, Best Buddies is a vibrant, international organization that has grown from one original chapter to more than 1,300 middle school, high school, and college campuses across the country and internationally. Best Buddies programs engage participants in each of the 50 United States. We have accredited international programs on six continents with additional country programs under active development. Our six formal programs - Best Buddies Middle Schools, High Schools, Colleges, Citizens, e -Buddies® and Jobs - will positively impact more than 350,000 individuals this year. Best Buddies also is systematically implementing our 2010 initiative that will witness the organization's continued significant growth, both domestically and overseas. Best Buddies volunteers annually contribute services to the community that equate to more than $70 million USD. Even though Best Buddies has advanced tremendously in our short existence, many areas of the country and many regions of the world still lack programs to help people with intellectual disabilities become part of mainstream society. Our goal is to continue expanding nationwide and at the local community level, while more broadly engaging the global community through our programs.

10. Mentoring USA - Mentoring USA, a New York City based nonprofit, forges powerful, transformative connections for young people through the advocacy and involvement of mentors. Using a one-to-one site-based model, our trained mentors inspire by example and model positive life choices.

11. AIDS Walk New York - Since 1986, AIDS Walk New York has raised $97 million for HIV  programs and services in the tri-state area, and has grown into the largest  AIDS fundraising event in the world. In 2007 alone, 45,000 participants, many of whom were members of 2,400 corporate and community teams, raised a record sum of more than $6.8 million for Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) and 60 other local AIDS service organizations.

12. Creative Coalition - The Creative Coalition is the premier nonprofit, nonpartisan social and political advocacy organization of the entertainment industry. Founded in 1989 by prominent figures in the creative community, including actors Alec Baldwin, Ron Silver, Christopher Reeve, Susan Sarandon, Blair Brown and Stephen Collins, TCC educates and mobilizes leaders in the arts community on issues of public importance, specifically in the areas of First Amendment rights, arts advocacy and public education.

13. Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation - The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation seeks to prevent pediatric HIV infection and to eradicate pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs.

14. Sundance Institute - Sundance Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to the discovery and development of independent artists and audiences.  Through its programs, the Institute seeks to discover, support, and inspire independent film and theatre artists from the United States and around the world, and to introduce audiences to their new work.

15. GLAAD - The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

16. Groundswell - Groundswell Community Mural Project is a Brooklyn-based, 501(c)(3) founded in 1996. Groundswell brings together professional artists, grassroots organizations and communities in partnership to create high quality murals in under-represented neighborhoods. Their work inspires youth, communities and artists to take active ownership of their future and equips them with the tools necessary for social change. They work city wide with a special focus on Brooklyn. Groundswell teaches individuals, grassroots organizations and artists in underserved neighborhoods to use murals to increase civic participation and empower people to speak for themselves in a large-scale venue. For ten years, Groundswell has served young people and communities who testify to the power and lasting impact of their mural projects. Using their innovative model, they have worked with over 900 community members-- including low-income teens, undocumented immigrants, people living with AIDS and multiracial neighborhood associations--to complete more than 50 collaboratively designed and painted murals in their neighborhoods. Groundswell not only designs programs, they teach people how to organize service projects themselves.

17. Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) - The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization devoted to the formulation of early diagnostic treatment programs and research towards the ultimate conquest of ovarian cancer. As OCRF strives to find an early diagnostic tool and a cure, it also seeks to support patients and their loved ones in understanding this disease and its treatment as well as to provide outreach programs and raise public awareness.

18. Alliance for Lupus Research - To find better treatments and ultimately prevent and cure systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE, or lupus), a debilitating autoimmune disease.

19. AIDS Walk Los Angeles (AWLA) - The money raised by AWLA benefits AIDS Project Los Angeles and other AIDS service organizations across Los Angeles County. AIDS Project Los Angeles, one of the largest non-profit AIDS service organizations in the United States, provides bilingual direct services, prevention education and leadership on HIV/AIDS-related policy and legislation. Founded by four friends in 1982, APLA is a community-based, volunteer-supported organization with local, national and global reach.

20. Two/Ten Foundation - Two Ten Footwear Foundation is committed to the well being of the footwear community. With financial, social and educational support and services, Two Ten fosters a spirit of giving with the focus on action, improvement and change.

Kenneth Cole is an amazing person. Not only are his fashion designs great, but he is a true hero for causes.

There is too much madness going on in the world at the moment. Lets unite in one positiveness to eradicate poverty which is one main issue and bases of any sort of peace. 'No more poverty' should be there banners and slogans for all humanity....until it echos through even the last evil one on the face of the earth... Why can't there be at list enough money printed or circulated so every one can at list have a daily meal???? Children dying of hunger and denial of basic health resources is very very sad...People please wake up.
